Frater Michael Wodarczyk, SCJ

“I felt called to the Dehonians because of their daily Eucharistic Adoration and work in parishes. I continue to feel called to the Dehonians because of my seminary experience. I have really learned a lot about scripture, theology and philosophy. I have also enjoyed my summer ministries which have helped me to properly discern my vocation. My call and desire for religious life as a Dehonian has not changed from when I was first a candidate.”

Frater Michael

I am Frater Michael Wodarczyk, SCJ, from Brookfield, WI, and am 34 years old. Prior to entering the seminary as a candidate for the Priests of the Sacred Heart I went to St. Norbert College where I earned a bachelor’s of Business Administration with a major in Accounting. I worked for Asenzya in Oak Creek, WI, as an inventory control clerk. I was active in my home parish, serving as a lector and as a Eucharistic minister. I also worked with RCIA.

After completing my second year of theology at Sacred Heart Seminary and School of Theology I am doing my pastoral year at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Houston. I’ll return for my third year of theology next fall.

I felt called to the Dehonians because of their daily Eucharistic Adoration and work in parishes. I continue to feel called to the Dehonians because of my seminary experience. I have really learned a lot about scripture, theology and philosophy. I have also enjoyed my summer ministries which have helped me to properly discern my vocation. My call and desire for religious life as a Dehonian has not changed from when I was first a candidate.

I came to know about the Priests of the Sacred Heart when I did preliminary research on religious orders in Milwaukee. I professed my first vows in August of 2022, and continue to renew them. I have grown in my faith, and it is the structure of religious life that has made that growth possible.

In my free time I like to watch movies and spend time with family and friends.

My favorite scripture passage: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28
