Feast of the Sacred Heart is next Friday, June 7. Many of Kisangani’s youth have only known a life of war and violence. Calm is often just a brief breath of fresh air in the midst of protest and conflict. The city is the third largest in the Democratic Republic of Congo and it reflects much of the struggles of the country itself. In the midst of this, the Priests of the Sacred Heart created “Gradi-Jeunes.”
Every six years the province holds a chapter — in part — to prepare for the General Chapter, which takes place a year later, at the Generalate in Rome.
The provincial, regional and district superiors of the congregation will meet at the Generalate in Rome.
SCJs from Canada and the United States will gather in Hales Corners for the North American Conference, the concluding moment of the general visitation.

The new provincial superior and council will be installed during a ceremony at Sacred Heart Monastery/School of Theology. The time has not yet been determined.
