Q&A with Fr. Steve
On May 26th a lot of things changed for Fr. Stephen Huffstetter, SCJ. He began the day as provincial superior of the US Province and ended it as a member of the General Council in Rome. It meant not only a new job, but a new country and a new language. A few weeks later Fr. Steve returned to the United States to take some vacation time with family, pack, and attend to the many details of moving to another country. He also sat down for a few minutes for a little Q&A on his new role and ministry.

SCJ reflects on military service, and on receiving the MSM
After four years of active duty as a chaplain (captain) with the US Army, including a tour in Afghanistan, Fr. Mark Mastin, SCJ, is hanging up his uniform. As he was packing his bags and getting ready to join the Dehon Formation Community in Chicago, he reflected on his his military service, and on receiving the prestigious Meritorious Service Medal.
365 years of religious life!
The US Province celebrated the religious jubilees of 11 SCJs on Monday evening, July 6. Fr. Ed Kilianski, SCJ, interim provincial superior, as well as one of the jubilarians (40 years of vows), was the main celebrant. Fr. Stephen Huffstetter, SCJ, newly elected general councilor, was the homilist. The rest of the jubilarians included: Fr. Steve Wiese, SCJ (60 years of profession); Br. Francis Snider, SCJ (50); Fr. Gary Lantz, SCJ and Fr. Robert Tucker, SCJ (40); Fr. Zbigniew Morawiec, SCJ (30); Fr. Christianus Hendrik, SCJ (25), Fr. Joseph Thien Dinh, SCJ, Br. Andy Gancarczyk, SCJ, Fr. Quang Nguyen, SCJ and Fr. Edward Zemlik, SCJ (20).
