What’s next?

Except for Fr. Sugino, all of those elected to the general administration are major superiors, including Fr. Steve. This means that five entities will soon begin the process of discerning new leadership.

The Province Jubilee Celebration will still be held on Monday, July 6, as planned.

More information about the election assembly will be sent to SCJs in the weeks ahead.

Auto insurance cards

New auto insurance cards are being mailed to SCJs this week. They become effective as of June 15, 2015. At that time, SCJs should discard their old auto insurance card and carry the new one.

If an SCJ does not receive his card by June 15 he should contact Kevin Stanke at the Provincial Treasurer’s Office. His email: provtreas3@usprovince.org. He suggests that when you contact him that you give him a fax number so that he can get a copy of the card to you quickly.

Holy Spirit Church in Hernando, Miss., celebrated Pentecost in a special way not only with a liturgy, but also with a potluck dinner, dancing and other entertainment that showed off the traditions of the many cultures that are a part of Mississippi. Parishioners from all six of the Sacred Heart Southern Missions’ parishes took part.

The celebration included Vietnamese dragons and dancers, Mexican performances, piñatas and a flag procession. “Over 400 people took part, it was wonderful,” said Laura Grisham, SHSM communications director.

Photos from the feast can be found on the SHSM Facebook page.
