Fr. Don Barnd dies
Fr. Don Barnd, 93, died October 23 in suburban Milwaukee. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Community at SHML with residence at the Congregational Home in Milwaukee. Fr. Tom Cassidy receives Dehon Distinguished Ministry Award
During the annual Alumni Week Awards dinner at Sacred Heart Seminary and School of Theology, Fr. Tom Cassidy, SCJ, was awarded the Dehon Distinguished Ministry Award. Fr. Tom is a former president-rector of SHSST, and previously served as provincial superior of the US Province and as a member of the General Council in Rome. Unfortunately, Fr. What it means to be a priest
On October 7th Fr. John Czyzynski, SCJ, was the presenter at this year’s Dehon Lecture hosted by Sacred Heart Seminary and School of Theology. His topic: “The Year of Consecrated Life; the dynamic interchange between the vocations of religious and diocesan priests as they advance the Church’s mission in the world.” From the perspective of a religious priest who has been involved in the formation of men for the priesthood and/or religious life for over 40 years he spoke about what it means to be a priest as well as the differences and shared mission of diocesan and religious clergy.
