Fr. Stephen Huffstetter elected to General Council!

On Tuesday. May 26, Fr. Stephen Huffstetter, provincial superior of the US Province, was elected to the General Council of the Priests of the Sacred Heart. Fr. Steve, 55, professed his first vows in 1982 and was ordained in 1989. Prior to his election as provincial superior in 2013 Fr. Steve was executive director of St. Joseph’s Indian School in Chamberlain, SD.


A new superior general!

On May 25, Fr. Heiner Wilmer, SCJ, was elected as the 10th superior general of the Priests of the Sacred Heart (Dehonians). He succeeds Fr. José Ornelas Carvalho, who completes his second, six-year term. Originally from Germany, Fr. Wilmer, 54, has been the provincial superior of the Dehonians’ German Province since 2007.
